Hi Shawn,
ReplyDeleteGreat job choosing local opportunities from the Gainesville Area. I actually read and reported on the article about Blue Lights on Campus. After reading it, I actually did more research on the issue. Did you know it costs $22,000 to install only one blue light? In addition, each student already has a virtual blue light notifier on their phone if they download the Gator Safe App. The cost ratio does not line up. The blue lights are a great idea, but I think this is a bigger issue that needs to be resolved through educating others on how to look out and defend themselves against perpetrators. Overall, fantastic job on this assignment.

Shawn,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post. I picked many of the same articles as you. I believe that we need to do something about the issues you cited. I find it is ridiculous that there are no blue emergency lights on Frat Row. You did a great job citing several significant issues. We need to find a way to assist the Bahamas after they were hit by behemoth Dorian, and we need to find a way to alleviate the vaping epidemic.
